Dr. Kenneth Wesley Harper is a native of Thomaston, Georgia. He received a B.S. in Biology from Clark Atlanta University (Clark College) in 1986. He received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1990. Dr. Harper completed his family practice residency at Martin Army Community Hospital in Ft. Benning, Georgia in 1993. Afterwards, he was assigned Clinic Commander at the U.S. Army Health Clinic in Nurnburg, Germany. In 1995, Dr. Harper was appointed as a staff physician and Quality Assurance Committee Chairman at the U.S. Army Health Clinic in Monterey, California. While in the Army, Dr. Harper achieved the rank of Major and was awarded the U.S. Army Accommodation Medal and the U.S. Army Achievement Medal.
Dr. Harper has practiced family medicine in the metro-Atlanta area since 1998. He is board-certified in Family Practice. His current memberships include the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians. He is currently Chief of Family Medicine at Dekalb Medical Center at Hillandale. He also serves as Medical Director for Trinity Health Care and a board member of the Dekalb Technical College Foundation.
Dr. Harper is a life-time member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated and charter member of the alumni chapter of Gwinnett County as well as member of the local chapter in Decatur, Georgia. He along with his wife, Candy and twin daughters Kennedy and Kaitlyn, are active members of New Birth Missionary Baptist Church in Lithonia, Georgia.
